THANK YOU FOR SHARING THOSE FANTASTIC 1956 PICTURES, JUNE!

In October 2010 we received these photos in an email with the following question from June Windsor of Cabot, Arkansas:

“Would someone at your establishment be able to identify the man standing to the left of my late Uncle Michael (Mike) Ferretti in two of the attached pictures? My uncle drove a bus for the Long Beach Transit Authority for many years. We were going through some family photos and found this one taken in April of 1956. Thank you for your time!”

We contacted June to let her know that the man with her late Uncle Michael is our grandfather and founder of our company, Vincent Passanisi. We’re so happy that you shared those pictures with us. ThankĀ

RAVES FROM THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER JUNE 25, 2009

Authentic hoagie shop hiding amid chain restaurants

Since we wrote yesterday about where not to get a solid sandwich, we figured we ought to devote some space today to a place you most certainly should go for a glorious grinder.

That’s easier said than done, though, because if we know about a solid deli, chances are we’ve already written about it.

Undaunted, I set out Monday on a mission, driving up and down random thoroughfares, nearly rear-ending several cars as I tried to spot a suitable sandwich shop in strip mall after strip mall after strip mall.

I started in Huntington Beach, went through Westminster, Garden Grove, Cypress, Buena Park and Los Alamitos, and then finally, after 25 miles or so, found myself in Seal Beach, where I spotted a promising Italian delicatessen.

SANTA FE IMPORTERS CAR SHOW

For the past two years, Santa Fe Importers has hosted a car show. Both were great occasions to gather with our wonderful customers and friends for an afternoon of classic cars, music, drawings and prizes, not to mention barbecued sausage sandwiches. Thank you to everyone who participated.
